Working across borders at Booking Experts
What it’s like to be part of a growing international team
From France to Germany to the UK, our Booking Experts (BEX) team is expanding across borders. But what’s it really like to work remotely, across cultures, and still feel connected? We asked team members from different countries about their roles, the way they collaborate and how they experience our Booking Experts culture.

Getting to know the team👋
Our five remote colleagues all work in different roles, from business development to support. They contribute to Booking Experts’ mission every day: providing the leading software solution for the rental and leisure industry, all from their own home office.
🇫🇷 France – Dylan
Tell us a bit about yourself and your role!
“My name is Dylan and I'm based in France. I work as a Customer Success Manager for the French market. I support new clients during onboarding and answer any questions they have about our BEX platform.”

How would you describe working with colleagues at BEX?
“In France, the work culture is usually more formal and structured. In The Netherlands and at Booking Experts, it’s built on trust, which I really value. One thing I had to learn was being more direct: that’s very Dutch!''
What has remote work been like for you?
“For me, autonomy is the biggest advantage. I can organize my day freely, have more time for activities before or after working hours and I’ve grown both personally and professionally. Even though I go to the office only once or twice a quarter, I never feel disconnected thanks to our communication software, which makes it easy to stay in touch with everyone else.”
What makes you feel at home at Booking Experts?
“I felt instantly welcome. As a former customer, I had already used Booking Experts for five years and knew some of the team. You really feel welcome here. When I come to the office, everyone switches to English for me and that means a lot. Because the company is growing internationally, it’s becoming more diverse and inclusive.''
🇩🇪 Germany – Sarmed & Monika
Can you introduce yourselves and your focus at Booking Experts?
Sarmed: “I’m Sarmed from Filderstadt (near Stuttgart), working as a Business Development Manager for the DACH region. I focus on researching potential clients, managing sales activities, giving live/online platform demos and maintaining customer relationships. I also attend trade fairs, negotiate with clients and partners and analyze market trends and new business opportunities.''
Monika: “I’m Monika, I’m based in Gelsenkirchen and work as a Business Development Manager as well but for the northern part of Germany.”

How does teamwork at BEX compare to your local work culture?
Sarmed: “Germany values structure, hierarchy, and formality, while the Netherlands promotes informality, collaboration, flat hierarchies and work-life balance. From my personal experience at Booking Experts, I can only confirm this. Since my first visit at BEX, I noticed a very friendly environment, even the CEO takes the time to speak with you. This was a positive learning experience for me.''
Monika: “Work culture in Germany can vary by company and region. In the Ruhr area, people are quite direct, so I’m used to that. But I did notice that Dutch colleagues can be a bit more reserved at first, which was something new to me. What I really appreciate here are the short lines of communication and the strong drive to find solutions and improve things together.’’

What’s your experience with working remotely?
Sarmed: “Remote work is a key part of my daily routine. I have control over my schedule and can structure my workday independently. It allows me to focus without distractions. Personally, I see it as a great advantage to live close to my family and friends.’’
Monika: “I enjoy the freedom of hybrid work. I can start earlier, plan my day more flexibly and focus better when working from home. Communication tools like Slack keep me connected to the team, no matter where I’m working from.”
What sets Booking Experts apart for you?
Monika: “Honestly, the first weeks were a bit overwhelming with all the languages (English, German, Dutch), but I took the opportunity to improve my Dutch and everyone’s been very supportive. The open culture, team activities and the space to be yourself make me feel at home now.”
Sarmed: “From day one, I felt truly welcome. Everyone greeted me warmly and supported me throughout the onboarding process, which made it easy to settle in quickly. I believe BEX is an innovative company where people from different cultures come together to create the best all-in-one booking software. Every team plays a vital role in the company’s ongoing success and growth.''

🇬🇧 United Kingdom – Andrew & Marland
Since September 2024, Booking Experts proudly partnered with ParcVu, one of the leading software providers for holiday parks in the UK. With over 35 years of industry experience and collaborations with some of the country’s largest holiday parks, ParcVu is a perfect fit for our shared ambition: taking holiday park management to the next level. Marland and Andrew work at ParcVu powered by Booking Experts.
What roles do you play in the UK team?
Andrew: “I’m Andrew and I’m the Business Development Director and live in East Yorkshire. I lead the Business Development team in the UK and manage sales for the ParcVu/Booking Experts software platform.”
Marland: “I’m Marland and I’m a Business Development Manager for ParcVu/Booking Experts as well, based in Kingston upon Hull. I focus on new business opportunities, sales and customer support.”

What’s collaboration like at BEX?
Andrew: “British companies can be slow to make decisions and usually want reassurance. At Booking Experts, the approach is more direct. The Dutch just get on and do it, I like that!''
Marland: “UK work culture is similar to that of other European countries. Having lived in Germany for five years, I wasn’t surprised by the Dutch directness. One subtle UK difference is the use of indirect language or understatement, which may require more interpretation for direct communicators like the Dutch. Still, at Booking Experts, clear and open communication bridges these minor differences well.’’
What’s your experience with remote work?
Marland: “For me, remote work has meant more quality time with my family, after years of being away working in holiday parks or the military. I can't wait to start the day and I appreciate the ability to do work as and when I need to outside of the normal working hours, as my office is my home.’’
Andrew: “I’ve been working remotely for seven years. While I do miss the buzz of an office sometimes, I love the flexibility, especially for early gym sessions. My colleagues have been a great help, always available when we need assistance. There is a great international culture and it does feel like one huge team which is great for business as well.”
What makes BEX special to you?
Andrew: “From the very first conversations with BEX, it felt like we were talking to the right people. Our vision and values aligned straight away and that meant a lot to us. When we visited Enschede to meet the potential new owners of ParcVu, we knew the deal would only go ahead if there was a real connection. If we hadn’t liked the people, we simply wouldn’t have done it. That personal fit was everything.”
Marland: “In my opinion, Booking Experts is a diverse and inclusive place to work because of its international team, which brings together a wide range of perspectives and experiences. The company actively promotes an environment where everyone feels valued and heard, regardless of their background or location.''
