Traditions at Booking Experts

Every company has its own habits and traditions. Some have been part of the culture for years, others are more recent. At Booking Experts, it’s the same. With a diverse team of young and old across different teams and locations, we’ve built some wonderful traditions over the years. Traditions that bring people together, create fun and strengthen our team spirit. Curious what they are? Let us show you!

1. Ugly Christmas sweater day

Before the holidays, it’s that time of year again: Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. On both the workday and evening of our company Christmas party, colleagues pull out their most ridiculous and creative sweaters. We vote for our favorites and the most original one gets a prize. Fun guaranteed! 🎄

2. Monthly treat

With 170+ colleagues, there are plenty of birthdays every month. And we make sure no one is overlooked. The birthday team of the month treats everyone, making it a fun coffee moment. This month? Of course, oliebollen: perfect for December!😋

3. Friday afternoon drinks

The Friday afternoon drinks can’t be missed. Every week we kick off the weekend together.🥂 With our own tap serving seasonal beer (plus plenty of wine and soft drinks!), it’s always a good time. A perfect moment to catch up with colleagues from other teams and expand your network at Booking Experts.

4. Annual outing to VRIJ

VRIJ Enschede has become a tradition. For several years now, we visit this Friday afternoon event outside the office. We have dinner together first and then head over as a team. One tradition we never get tired of and look forward to every year.🥳

5. Padel

Padel has quickly become a favorite. After work, we go to the court across from our office for some sporty and competitive fun. Relaxation and competition all in one!🎾

6. Lunch together

Lunch is at 12:00. Not at your desk, but together in the bistro. A chance to step away from your screen, chat about anything but work, and get to know your colleagues better. Joining our team? You don’t need to bring your own lunch. 🥪 Every weekday there’s fresh bread and soup and on Fridays it’s poké bowl day!

7. BEXPERIENCE

Once a year, the whole team goes on a trip during BEXPERIENCE. The destination remains a surprise until the very last moment, ranging from a day in Amsterdam to a trip to Walibi. We believe it’s not just about the place, but about creating memories together. 🤩

8. Pingpong & Tournaments

A game of pingpong is the perfect way to break up the workday. Step away from your screen and enjoy a healthy competition. 🏓 Occasionally, we organize a tournament, and of course, you get an alter ego name: like Leon ‘The Albatros’ or Jorn ‘The Viking’.

9. Sports activities

Joining sport competitions together is becoming a tradition. This year, we participated for the first time in the Enschede Singelloop and Enschede Marathon, training together under the guidance of our colleague and running coach Rick where vitality and team spirit go hand in hand!🏃‍♀️

10. Summer BBQ

Right before the summer holiday, we close the first half of the year with a reflection and a delicious Turkish BBQ.☀️ A solid tradition that everyone loves! We don’t want to make you jealous, but you’re probably already craving it…

11. Monthly themes

Recently, we introduced monthly themes that reflect who we are. Think Vitality Month with a steps challenge and the introduction of the bike plan, or Mental Health Month with a secret friend activity where colleagues surprise each other with little gifts. Activities like these are now essential and bring the team even closer together.💚

12. Remote colleagues & BEX Winterfest

Besides our office in Enschede, many colleagues work remotely. They often come back for trainings, meetings or to collaborate on-site at the office. And of course, we see each other at our annual Christmas party: BEX Winterfest.🎅 A moment when everyone comes together, no matter where they usually work.
