Meet the Data & Innovations Team: the people behind smart automations, AI and innovation
Since November 2025, the online marketing team at Booking Boosters has welcomed a new team: the Data & Innovations Team. Not your typical marketing team, but a group focused on using AI, data and automation to help our 40+ online marketers work smarter, faster and more efficiently.
Every day, the team looks at questions like: How can we improve our processes? Which tasks take up too much time? And how can AI give marketers more room to focus on creativity and strategy?
Why the Data & Innovations Team was created
At Booking Boosters, our online marketers work in small, independent teams called “cells.” This way of working encourages ownership, speed and initiative. As Booking Boosters continued to grow, more specialist and supporting roles emerged that no longer fit entirely within these marketing cells. Think of roles such as an AI Developer, CRO Analyst, Data Specialist and SEO Lead.
"It was time to bring these specialists together and create a team that could fully support our marketing cells," says Gido, Team Lead of the Data & Innovations Team.
That’s how the Data & Innovations Team was born: a team fully focused on innovation, automation, AI and data solutions that help the rest of the organisation work more effectively. The team currently consists of Gido, Daan (Data & Automation Engineer), Lard (CRO & Data Analyst) and Rick (SEO Lead).
And this is only the beginning. As the demand for smart automations and AI solutions continues to grow, the team is actively looking for new colleagues who want to help shape the future of online marketing at Booking Boosters.
AI assistants, smart workflows and automations
What is the team working on right now? Building smart automations that save colleagues time every day. But that’s not all. The team also runs experiments within the BEX CMS, including A/B testing and CRO improvements, while also working on SEO and GEO. This allows the team to continuously test, learn and optimise what truly works.
Gido explains: "The goal is actually very simple. We want to remove repetitive work so our marketers have more time for creative and meaningful tasks. That makes the work not only more efficient, but also more enjoyable."
Here are a few examples:
AI assistants for SEO, SEA and Meta Ads
These act like digital teammates that check campaigns, spot mistakes and suggest improvements. Everything happens through Slack (our online communication channel). Colleagues can ask questions, request analyses or quickly check whether everything is set up correctly.
Automated Asana board setups
Asana is the project management tool where teams organise tasks, projects and workflows. Onboarding a new client used to take up to an hour to set up a complete Asana board. Now, someone only needs to fill in a simple form with details such as the client name and team. Everything else is created automatically.
Google Calendar ↔ Asana integration
Meetings are automatically added as tasks in Asana. This keeps everything in one place and removes the need for manual to-do lists or reminders.
Smarter ticket routing in Help Scout
Help Scout is used for customer communication and support tickets. Incoming messages are now automatically assigned to the right colleague. What used to take a large part of the day now happens automatically, with only occasional checks needed.
Automated conversion setups for Google Ads
Creating conversions in Google Ads and connecting them through Google Tag Manager can be time-consuming and prone to mistakes. The team has automated most of this process, making it much faster and more reliable.
What makes the team unique
One of the team's biggest strengths is the combination of freedom, curiosity and hands-on experience. There is plenty of room to test new ideas, experiment and sometimes step away from the standard way of doing things. This is often where the best ideas come from.
At the same time, the team works closely with the marketing cells throughout Booking Boosters. By combining the practical experience of marketers with technical expertise in AI, data and automation, the team creates solutions that colleagues genuinely benefit from every day.
Gido says: "We really have the freedom to explore new ideas and take a different approach when needed. By combining creativity, experimentation and marketing experience, we build automations that create real value for both our colleagues and our clients."
Building the future of marketing
The team is still growing and developing, but the direction is clear: step by step, building stable and reliable automations that make work easier at Booking Boosters and support future growth.
By improving processes and taking repetitive work off people's hands, marketers can spend more time on the work they enjoy most: strategy, creativity and performance optimisation. Clients benefit as well, because there is more focus on the activities that truly add value.
Gido explains: "We want to build solutions that simply work and keep working, so colleagues can rely on them every day and so they help us continue growing as an organisation."
