With over 35 years of experience supporting holiday parks, ParcVu has become the UK’s leading park-management platform. Last year, Booking Experts started a collaboration to bring our deep industry knowledge together with ParcVu’s expertise, combining it with modern, cloud‑based technology to help parks run more efficiently, increase revenue and improve guest experience.

What is office life like?

James (Director at ParcVu powered by Booking Experts): ''Life at the Chester office is relaxed, friendly and a little different from how it used to be. Like many teams, employees now mainly work from home, coming into the office once a week on Thursdays, the official “office day.”

ParcVu has a team of 24 employees spread across the UK, around half of us live close enough to come to the office in person. We’ve mapped out where everyone is based, from the Scottish borders down to the south coast, showing just how far our ParcVu reach extends!

The office itself sits on the edge of Chester, in a converted cattle shed at Bretton Hall Farm. It’s a mix of old countryside charm and modern tech, split over two floors, with the development team working downstairs, QA (Quality Assurance) and Support upstairs.''

James: "On sunny days, you’ll often find us outside at the picnic bench having lunch, overlooking open fields and the Welsh hills in the distance.

The working environment is friendly and informal. We’re a collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together, whether that’s developing our fantastic platform, supporting our customers, or solving problems. And some days, we even get a visit from Honey, Sarah’s golden Labrador, who has quickly become the most popular member of the team."🐶

Cultural differences between The Netherlands & The UK

James: “Our UK and Dutch teams have been working closely together for just over a year now, and it’s been a very positive and productive experience. Of course, there are some differences in how we communicate and work, but everyone shares the same positive attitude and goals.

Here are a few things I’ve noticed:

We’re all working towards the same goal: creating the best platform and experience for our customers and partners. The way we work together every day shows that we have the right people, the right attitude and plenty of trust to make it happen.

Yes, there are some cultural differences, but just like tea with a stroopwafel🍪, sometimes the mix of two worlds makes things even better.’’

Meet our Teams in Chester

Our Chester office brings together a supportive mix of teams, each with their own strengths and personalities, but all working towards the same mission: helping our platform grow and keeping our users happy. Let’s get to know the teams a little better!

The Business Development team discovers new opportunities, builds relationships and helps ParcVu powered by Booking Experts grow. They work closely with UK clients and colleagues in the Netherlands to find the best solutions for each customer, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

Our operations team, aka Tricia, keeps day-to-day processes running smoothly. Tricia makes sure the office and client interactions run efficiently, from planning to support. And we couldn’t do it without her!

Fun facts about the Chester office

Every workplace has its own way of doing things. In Enschede, for example, we play Jannes at 4:00 pm, often go padelling together after work, and some colleagues get really into ping pong (looking at you, Cem!😎). Now we’re curious: what fun, typical facts do our UK colleagues have? 

James says: 

1. 3,600 miles🚗

If all of the UK staff drove to the office and back on the same day, we’d collectively cover over 3,600 miles: that’s like driving from Chester to Enschede and back eight times!

2. From cattle to code🐑

Our office might once have been home to cattle, but now it’s code that fills the rooms and sheep that wander past the windows. Being in the country we often have interesting and unusual smells drifting by. ParcVu have been resident at Bretton Hall Farm for over 25 years having first moved in in 2000.

3. Proudly Welsh🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The ParcVu powered by Booking Experts office is actually in Wales, not England, and we have several proud Welsh staff members. The English border is less than half a kilometre from the office door.

4. What's in our name?🤔

The Parc in ParcVu comes from the Welsh version of the English word Park.
