Booking Experts is looking for Software Engineers who want to develop themselves further in building top quality web applications. You work with your team on a scalable and advanced all-in-1 reservation system that must be able to handle a lot of traffic at any time of the day. Booking Experts is the perfect place for beginners to learn the trade from colleagues with many years of experience, but we also have challenges for the most seasoned experts to sink your teeth into.

What will you be doing?

As a Software Engineer you work on scalable software solutions within our various products. This way you can work on our all-in-1 reservation system, our CMS and our App Store. You deliver quality and well-designed code that users and your colleagues can build on. You are also busy analyzing and solving complex problems throughout the stack. We also think it's important that you put your skills to the test to keep growing and learning.

You work in a small, independent team of approximately 3 people on a project. Together you decide what to work on. This is happening at a fast pace but we never work in a rush.

Your department and team

Every day our team of experienced engineers works on a scalable and advanced booking platform for holiday parks. With us you will find specialisms such as backend, frontend, full stack and DevOps.

Our solutions enable recreation companies to automate and optimize their booking processes, allowing them to realize more direct bookings and increase guest satisfaction. In this way we help vacation parks across the board with automation and digitalization. We develop various functionalities such as:

• BEX PMS: For managing all back office operations.

• Search and Book: For stimulating direct bookings through the website.

• BEX CMS: For building user-friendly websites that are seamlessly integrated with our PMS.

• Business Intelligence: Advanced dashboards for making data-driven decisions.

Valued qualities

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, the most important qualities are eagerness to learn and perseverance. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science (or equivalent knowledge) is preferred, along with a solid foundational knowledge of programming languages. You stay updated on developments in your field and continuously learn through resources like books or conferences. We work extensively with Ruby, and if you’re not experienced with it yet, it’s important that you're willing to learn.

Your skills:

• Completed HBO or WO computer science studies or you have equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Independence. As a senior you can carry out large refactors independently. As a junior you will also work independently on projects. Usually you do this in consultation with other colleagues, but usually the major part of the work is done by an individual.
